Hungary không tạo được sự hào hứng như trận đầu. Với sai lầm của Király và phải chịu quả phạt đền "nặng tay" của trọng tài ở Hiệp 1 (phút 40), Hungary đã giữ bóng nhiều hơn và cố gắng công phá trước 1 đội Iceland thi đấu bình tĩnh/chặt chẽ suốt trận để cuối cùng không ghi bàn vẫn gỡ hòa (Saevarsson, phút 88) trước khi trận đấu kết thúc.
